Rio Drake Lodge

Rio Drake Lodge is located in the north part of the Drake Bay, in a private property that has trails to explored  and where the tourist will  appreciate the great  biodiversity on flora and fauna, such us monkeys, slots, raccoons, turtles, crocodiles, and mush more... we are in an tropical forest area, where the climate is hot and humid; our visitors should be ready to face the heat and typical insects from these regions. 

We are 300 metros from the beach where the pirate Francis Drake walked.

Our menu is prepared with products from the area, offering several Costa Rican dishes, our specialty is BBQ.

We also give the visitor the option to cook for themselves, you are able to use our   kitchen-rancho

In the near towns the visitor has the opportunity to buy first necessity products (such as food and fuel) , El Progress and Agujitas are on a short distance from the lodge.

We are Costa Rican with the desire of sharing with you, all that positive energy, and the  peace that only can be find in this beautiful paradise, full with adventures and surprises, behind every tree.

For the visitor those prefer stay al Rio Drake Lodge, we offer natural trails where local fauna can be appreciated.

A really interesting hike is, to Rio Drake enjoying its natural lagoons, swimming deep in the fresh water. There is also a lagoon close by the coat, where the crocodriles lay under sun. You will be able to relax in our clean beaches and see the amazing enviroment while the sun  slowly falls in Drake Bay .

How get here.

By Road: From San Jose following the panamerican high way, then turning right side in Chacarita and deviating before the bridge of Rincon.  From Rincon to Drake 27km ballast road.

By Bus: Take the route San Jose-Chacarita-La Palma, at la Palma you can get a taxi to Drake (ask for Rio Drake Loge)

By plane: SANSA and Nature Air offer regular flights (except in September and October) from San Jose (Tobias Bolaņos Airport) Alajuela (Juan Santamaria International Airport )

By boat: Daily rides from Sierpe.
