Pearl of the Osa Come, put your feet up |
Iguana Lodge's Pearl of the Osa
Beach Resort ~ a hot spot, a cool place,
and on the best beach in the Osa. The Pearl is a hip place on the Osa to get a
room overlooking the beautiful Golfo Dulce.
From there you can trek all over our ecological jewel of a peninsula; we are happy to help you arrange all sorts of grand adventures, such as hiking, tree climbing, swimming with wild dolphins, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing, surfing, and bird watching. |
|
|
On the other hand, you can kick back in a hammock with a tropical cocktail and enjoy paradise ~ meet the Ticos, jump in on a pick up volleyball game, grab a great meal, boogie board all day, practice your yoga (not to mention your salsa dancing), walk along our gorgeous six-mile stretch of pristine sandy beach, read a great book, or whatever else strikes your fancy…including doing absolutely NADA. |
The “Last Great Peninsula,” the Osa,
remains truly untouched by the ravages of civilization, including rampant
tourism. The Osa is one of the most biologically intense places on our planet,
and much of it will hopefully soon be designated a World Heritage Site. Here you
will find primeval rainforest with over 350 species of birds, 115 species of
reptiles, 750 species of trees and 10,000 species of insects...along with the
fantastic 100,000 acre Corcovado National Park. |
|
|
At the Pearl you can venture all over and
through this tropical wildlife-rich wonderland, as well as come to know the best
other thing going for Costa Rica, The Costa Ricans - who you will find to be the
most fun-loving and life-loving people around…and boy can they salsa. |
Accommodations The Pearl of the Osa has eight lovely, breezy rooms perched high above the jungle floor; four overlook the surf and four face the jungle. A wide balcony surrounds them all, with lounge chairs to kick back in and enjoy the view. Each room has its own private bath with shower; two orthopedic beds, one double and one single; and (of course) the ever present tropical fan perched overhead. Rooms range in price from $45 to $75 a room. (This is not a per person rate, but is priced per room. An additional $15 is added for a third person in the room.) A great breakfast with platters of tropical fruits, fresh squeezed orange juice, home-made breads and spreads, granola, and yogurt is complimentary Fortunately for us...and for you...we are
located on the most beautiful beach on the Osa Peninsula. This pristine beach is beyond perfect
for swimming, boogie boarding, and enjoying the surf...the warm tropical water
isn't too bad either. The deserted beach is over 6 miles long:
you can walk for hours along our virgin shores without seeing another person
although you may likely see Macaws, turtles, dolphins and a variety of other
wildlife. We also have kayaks and boogie boards for
rent so you can go play in the surf...or paddle out to the reef to fish or
snorkel. |
