Who are we?

COOPEUNIORO R.L. is a small cooperative dedicated to the protection and research of medicinal plants, organic agriculture, and the preservation of community’s traditions. Its principal objective is to develop form of ecotourism that is based on conservation, rational and sustainable use of natural resources.

Cerro de Oro Eco Lodge offers an unparallel experience. You will feel very relaxed when you walk between a river and a forest, spend time with members of the cooperative, visit indigenous reservations, participate in the daily chores of the people, or simply rest in the peaceful Corcovado Park. You can walk through the park and spend the night in a beautiful place, safe and with human warmth, this is Cerro de Oro Eco Lodge

Where are we?
Cerro de Oro Lodge is located in the middle of the Osa Peninsula, 4 kilometers from the town of La Palma, and two kilometers from the entrance to Corcovado National Park.

Ademas Cerro de Oro cuenta con energia electrica continua mediante un novedoso sistema, con una micro turbina, que no causa impacto ambiental y esta siendo utilizado modelo a seguir en proyectos en la zona Sur de Costa Rica.

What do we have?


Cerro de Oro Eco Lodge has an albergue of Rustin Cabins with 6 rooms, with shared bathrooms. There are also 2 cabins wtih maximum capacity of 6 quests each. At the same time there is a rancho style dining room. The cooperative is planning to develop a documentation center and a meeting room completely equipped for workshops and seminars.

 

What do we offer?

·       Visit and walk through the Corcovado National Park trail. Take walks by the Rincon River, which in the past was used to remove large quantities of material in search of gold.

·       Experience and learn about plants and natural medicines at our medicinal plant garden.

·       Visit and learn about our palm nurseries and native plant species.

·       Collect and prepare dishes with us made from organic food.

·       Participate in workshops on environmental education, cooperatives and voluntary work.

·       Guided tours through the cooperative’s forest.

·       Bird watching and Nature trails.

What else?


Cerro de Oro Eco Lodge offers facilities to institutions and universities that would like to study the plants and animals in the Corcovado National Park. It receives volunteers all year and receives technical and material support to continue our conservation projects

 

Rate per person $35 meals and taxes included.
